HOW TO BECOME A
FEHI MADHARUSA
In order for a school to attain the status of a Fehi Madharusa, it will need to go through a series of 10 steps, beginning with the initial registration process. The school should establish a team responsible for leading this endeavor.
Fehi Madharusa Aims
Reduce Environmental Footprint
Reduce environmental impact on a school and individual level, including energy, water, and waste with a special focus on single use plastics in line with the Government of the Maldives’ phase out plan.
Increase eco-literacy
all school community members to demonstrate environmental and sustainability literacy with a special focus on ocean stewardship specific to the unique geography of the Maldives.
Promote climate prosperity
to prepare students for a low carbon future that also provides economic prosperity with a special focus on nurturing a resilient, innovative generation to achieve the government’s net-zero by 2030 target.
