In recognition of the urgent need for action, the government of the Maldives has announced a target for the country to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. A radical decarbonization programme will be necessary to achieve this goal, alongside accelerated efforts to adapt low-lying islands to the harshest impacts of climate change.

Our young people have the potential to be world leaders in environmental solutions such as coral restoration, sustainable waste management, renewable energy, sustainable fisheries and climate financing.
